On October 27, 2019, the Italian wine tasting class organized by Research Centre for Luxury Goods and Services of UIBE and LUXURY TIMES magazine started as scheduled.
In the morning, Mr. Alex taught the students the basic theoretical knowledge of several Italian wine producing regions and the differences of wines brewed from different grapes as well as taught us how to classify Italian wines, and what good wines are worth understanding in each producing region.
In the afternoon, Mr. Guo Jie led us to taste seven kinds of Italian wines at the CBD Les Millésimes.
Mr. Guo Jie has been engaged in international trade since the late 1980s. He has successively served as the Purchasing Director of Swiss Moenpik in China, the Business Director of Italian De vina Wine Alliance in China, etc.
Students tasted 7 kinds of wines from Piedmont in northern Italy (one red and one white of sweet wines: Moscato D'Asti and Brachetto D' Acqui); Chianti and Chianti Aging from Tuscany in north-central Italy and Rose produced by Frescobaldi, an internationally renowned winery; blend wine from Puglia in southern Italy and Nerodavola, the main variety in Sicilian Autonomous Region, as well as dry white wine mainly produced by grape of France variety and mixed with a small amount of local grape of Sicilian varieties.
